A Walk into the Wild
This project’s aim was to convey the negative impact that climate change is having on both animals and particular habitats. The collection is formed of three groups; the first of which is Monochrome Jungle. This group conveys the beautiful aspects of jungle animals and focuses on the idea that through being endangered these animals could become a mere dream. For this reason the collection is composed in an illustrative and dream like manner. The prints are to read like picture books, depicting the dream like world of the jungle.
The second group conveys the issue of the Australian (June 2019- March 2020) bush fires. It looks to depict the disappearing effect that fire has and highlight that numerous animals and plant species are now endangered. The collection is brighter than the monochrome collection in order to expose or highlight the very real danger.
The third group is based on the Costa Rican Monteverde Cloud Forest and other cloud forests. The issue these beautiful forests and habitats face is climate change. With increasing temperatures the conditions within these forests and the levels of precipitation are constantly changing which is affecting rare plant species, insects and in turn birds and animals. The designs in this collection are printed on synthetic fibres and organic silks that are glossy and bright. The "sheen" or glossy quality is designed to look watery like the cloud forests or vanishing forests.
Each group has statement designs – almost like posters -which reflect the very real issues faced by all of the animals depicted in these groups.

A Walk into The Wild - Australian Fires
The second group conveys the more current issue of the Australian bush fires. It looks to depict the disappearing effect that fire has and highlight that there are numerous animals now endangered. The impact of these fires has been catastrophic and impacted all species including plants, trees, moths and other animals. The collection is brighter than the monochrome collection – to expose or highlight the very real danger.
A Walk into The Wild - Cloud Forest
The third group is based on the Costa Rican Monteverde Cloud Forest and other cloud forests. The issue these beautiful forests and habitats face is climate change. With increasing temperatures the conditions within these forests and the levels of precipitation are constantly changing which is affecting rare plant species, insects and in turn birds and animals. The cloud forest is often described as a vanishing forest because the cloud level suspends beneath the canopies to the very forest floor, creating a mist effect. The irony is that not only are the forests vanishing but so are the species; as a result of global warming and poaching. The designs in this collection are printed on synthetic fibres and organic silks that are glossy and bright to demonstrate this environment. They have to look wet and shiny like the environment. Each group has a statement design – almost like a poster which reflects the very real issues faced by all of the animals.
